Technical teaching and learning for industry 4.0 enhancing 21st century skills with stem sims .

Modern industrial work demands smart technicians who are able to operate complex machines, diagnose problems, analyze data, and identify solutions. The unprecedented rate of technological advancement in regards to industry 4.0, demands a different set of technical proficiencies – requiring interactive and inquiry-based instruction. To meet the needs of Industry 4.0 – technical colleges have to manage instruction to provide students with relevant and hands-on experience, reflecting the complexity of modern work.

Kenan has strived continuously to strengthen economic development and improve Thailand’s overall industry competiveness by refining Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education all across the country. Providing the current workforce with the tools and experience necessary to meet the needs of Industry 4.0. While in turn, best preparing the next generation for the challenges and complexities of modern work.

Kenan’s STEM Capacity Building of Teachers and Students has delivered STEM education and TVET training to 2,539 teachers and 585 school leaders, impacting 112,352 students in the process. In two years, the STEM project has directly benefitted over 275,000 students, teachers, administrators, policymakers, and community members.

Technical Teaching and Learning for Industry 4.0 Technicians program aims to enhance capacity of Chitralada Vocation School and its teachers in regards to delivering technical instruction. The ultimate goal is to position Chitralada Vocational School in Bangkok, towards being a center of excellence in an innovative technical instruction model.

Blended technical instruction model for the next new normal period

This component will focus on the use of simulation technology and modern pedagogies to strengthen the foundational knowledge of technical students grade 10th – 12th.

Enhanced 21st century skills

This component will strengthen critical thinking & problem solving, creativity, communication, collaboration and leadership skills of technical students grade 10th -12th, which will set them up for success in life and career in the 21st century.

Advanced technical skills

This component will focus on enhancing in-demand technical skills to correspond to industry 4.0 industries.
