Boeing’s OCC project launch and the signing ceremony (Thai Television news on Channel 7)

Feb 4,2010

The Boeing Corporation provided 2.4 million THB (US $70,000) to Kenan Institute Asia (K.I.Asia) to implement the project and provide computer equipment, as part of its commitment to promote teacher professional development and improve school leadership. A Memorandum of Understanding between Boeing, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Schools, and K.I.Asia was signed on January 19th, 2010. The Boeing OCC Project works with administrators from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Schools and IT Princess Schools to train teachers in how to use a computer directly in the classroom as part of the lesson plan. Since there are limited computers available at many of these schools, using one computer in the classroom allows teachers to best use technology to create interesting lessons and activities, which in turn help students learn. This program proves especially beneficial to small and/or disadvantaged schools.
