The Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion (OSMEP) (July 2012-September 2014)

Kenan consultants played a key role in assisting the Thailand’s Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion (OSMEP) in preparing for and chairing the 36th, 37th, 38th, and 39th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Small and Medium Enterprise Working Group Meetings (APEC – SMEWG).

The meetings, held in Manila, Bali, Taichung, and Nanjing in March and September of 2013 and 2014 respectively, served as major forums for sharing information and policy ideas about how best to assist small and medium businesses in the Asia Pacific region. Among the issues discussed were ways to encourage better tracking of SME performance across the region through an APEC SME Monitoring Index, a multi-year proposal on integrating SMEs into global supply chains, and ways to provide better legal counsel to international SMEs. In addition to preparing meeting documents and reports, Kenan also delivered presentations to the forum and worked with representatives from each economy and APEC officials directly to ensure the working group meetings ran smoothly.
