Vietnam Disabilities Study Tour

Jan 26,2023

The aim of this project was to demonstrate how integrated rehabilitation services are being planned and implemented from a management perspective to a range of medical directors and senior health officials in Vietnam. The project increased participants’ understanding of disability services that are provided in Thailand, gave a background of disability rights, legislation and financial support mechanisms, and formulated a plan to adapt these to the Vietnam context and in Vietnamese hospitals and facilities. The participants documented and shared this knowledge with colleagues in Vietnam.

The training focused on observing and documenting how a rehabilitation hospital organizes the delivery of integrated services, including inpatient and outpatient hospital services and community- and home-based rehabilitation services.
