The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank) and Kenan Foundation Asia have collaborated to strengthen financial, marketing, and technological aspects to enhance the capabilities of female entrepreneurs and prepare them for competitive markets both nationally and globally. This collaboration led to the project “Strengthening women-owned businesses to the international supply chain,” focusing on promoting various skills to empower Micro SMEs and women across Thailand, providing them access to valuable knowledge for their businesses.

Phatrakarn Srivirithikul from Beanhouse, a seasoned flavored bean brand, turned the COVID crisis into an opportunity for global market expansion. The pandemic was a turning point for many businesses, including Phatrakarn’s. When her store had to close, she launched ‘Beanhouse,’ inspired by her love for beans and commitment to producing quality products for the global market. Beanhouse has markets in Thailand, neighboring countries like Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar, and Middle Eastern countries like Bahrain and Dubai, with the largest markets in China and Malaysia. Phatrakarn attributes her success to adapting technology and digital tools in her business and training under the project “Strengthening women-owned businesses to the international supply chain” by SME D Bank and operated by Kenan Foundation Asia, which broadened her perspective in cost calculation and taking her products to a global audience.

Somboon Changto from Fala Natural Soap, supported by the Family Thread Association, believes that success varies for everyone, but taking action is a significant achievement. It started as a way to earn a sustainable income during COVID-19. Fala Natural Soap was born, producing natural oil soaps by a group with direct experience in mental health. Within a year, the brand received positive feedback through reviews on various online platforms like TikTok and Facebook, gradually increasing its customer base. Training under the project “Strengthening women-owned businesses to the international supply chain” by SME D Bank and operated by Kenan Foundation Asia, especially in online sales through Amazon, franchise selling, and rediscovering brand identity, significantly contributed to Somboon’s brand growth.

Wasana Saechua from Phingan Herbal Shampoo turned her daughter’s head lice problem into an opportunity by creating an herbal shampoo for children with lice. Her background in science and collaboration with Prince of Songkla University led to the creation of Phingan Herbal Shampoo, known for its natural ingredients and safe application within ten minutes. The shampoo has been effective for over 2,000 children aged 3-12. Wasana plans to expand her products throughout Thailand and to neighboring countries in the future.
