The Ministry of Science and Technology has allocated a budget of 3.29 billion baht to implement 14 key initiatives to help tackle poverty and inequality through science through the ‘Big Rock’ project. Click on the banner on this page to download the full details.
The 14 initiatives can be divided into three groups, which focus on the use of science to create quality people, the use of science to tackle poverty and the use of science to strengthen and boost the economy. Many of these initiatives support activities to inspire children to pursue careers that require a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, and to help drive a start-up culture in Thailand.
The project goal is to prepare Thailand for the 21st century while eliminating inequality and enabling the new generation to be scientifically and technologically creative as well as more capable in using innovative techniques.
Kenan Institute Asia is proud to be a partner of the Ministry of Science and Technology and to provide technical support to the Ministry to conduct science, technology, engineering and math awareness activities.
